Volunteer of the Year!

Congratulations to my friend, Charlotte Carmichael, for winning the 2014 Dorothy P. Linke Outstanding Volunteer Service Award from Indiana Landmarks. This is well-deserved! I have worked with Charlotte for 2 years now, doing volunteer gardening at the Morris-Butler House. She is the leader of our gardening group, and she is the hardest working person on the team.

Gardening is only one of the areas of service that she provides for Indiana Landmarks. She is also a Docent, a volunteer tour guide, and leads walking tours through Crown Hill Cemetery and historic neighborhoods, among other things that I can't even keep up with!

But the main reason I love working with Charlotte is because she is a retired teacher too, and we share the best and funniest stories about teaching and former students. I'm laughing right now just thinking about those stories. (Some are not for public ears.)

I'm looking forward to Season 3, Charlotte!
