There's One More Thing!
What a great Apple Keynote it was! The most exciting keynote in years, and today Tim Cook used Steve Jobs' phrase, "There's one more thing".
First, as expected, there were two new iPhones, iPhone 6 and iPhone 6+! The iPhone 6 is 4.7 inches and the Plus is 5.5 inches with battery life equal or better than the iPhone 5S. The new phones have a faster chip, Touch ID, faster wireless LTE, a new 8MP camera with Focus Pixels and iOS8. They can take 1080p video at 30fp or 60fps, and slo-mo at 120 fps or 240 fps. And the cameras even have blink and smile detection! The phones ship on September 19th.
If you don't care about specs, watch Jony Ive's film and a Close-up video of the phones. If you get a YouTube error on any videos, refresh the webpage. They're really busy right now.
The next topic was Apple Pay. It's a new system of payment, instead of using credit cards. Hold your phone up to the scanner, press Touch ID, and you have paid. All of your credit cards are stored in Passbook and all of the data is encrypted and private. Apple won't even know where you spent the money or much you spent. And if you lose your phone, you can use Find My iPhone to suspend all payments from the device. Very cool. You can even order a Uber without opening an account.
But what I was hoping for most from this keynote came true. The Apple Watch!
To make the Apple Watch even more incredible, Apple added Health and Fitness features to it. It even works for cyclists, something the Nike FuelBand did not. And the Apple Watch works with Apple Pay!

And to top it off, U2 performed live on stage and then announced that Apple was giving U2s new album, Songs of Innocence, FREE to every iTunes customer, today! Check your iTunes.
The Apple Watch comes out early 2015 with a starting price of $349. I'm starting to save for it today! I think I'll get the Apple Watch Sport.
Whew! It may be difficult sleeping tonight.
